Dear Techies,

If you've been hearing about ChatGPT everywhere but haven't actually tried it yet, this week's newsletter is specifically for you.

We're breaking down exactly how to get started with ChatGPT—no tech background required, no confusing jargon, just a simple walkthrough that gets you from zero to actually using it in about 15 minutes.

Why ChatGPT?

Here's the thing: ChatGPT is the AI tool most people start with, and for good reason. It's free, it's powerful, and once you understand the basics, it becomes like having a knowledgeable assistant available 24/7.

But we get it—starting something new can feel intimidating, especially when everyone else seems to already know what they're doing.

That's why we created this week's newsletter. By the end, you'll have your account set up and you'll have already gotten useful results from your first few prompts.

What You'll Learn This Week

  • What ChatGPT actually is (and what it can and can't do)
Let's clear up the confusion right from the start. We'll explain exactly what you're working with in plain English.

  • How to set up your account in under 5 minutes
We walk you through every single click—from visiting the website to logging in for the first time.

  • Your first three prompts (and why they work)
We'll show you real examples that demonstrate ChatGPT's capabilities, from explaining complex topics simply to helping you write professional emails.

  • The secret to getting better results
There are three simple rules that transform your ChatGPT experience from "meh" to "wow." We reveal all three and show you exactly how to use them.

  • Common questions answered
Is your data private? Can you trust the answers? Do you need to pay? We cover it all.

Watch the Full Tutorial

We've recorded a complete step-by-step video tutorial that you can follow along with on your own computer or phone.

The video is around 40 minutes, and by the end you'll be confidently using ChatGPT for real tasks. We show you our screen the entire time, so you can see exactly what to do.

Try This After Watching

Here's your assignment (yes, we're giving you homework, but the fun kind) 😀:

After you watch the video and set up your account, try these three prompts:

1. Ask it to explain something you've always wanted to understand
Example: Explain how the stock market works like I'm 10 years old

2. Ask it to help you write something
Example: Help me write a professional email declining a meeting but offering alternative times

3. Ask it to brainstorm ideas for a project or problem
Example: Give me 10 creative gift ideas for my friend who loves baking and photography, budget $50

Then—and this is important—come back and tell us what surprised you most. Reply to this email or drop a comment on the YouTube video. We read every single one.

The Three Rules for Better Results

We cover this in detail in the video, but here's a preview of the game-changing principles:

  1. Rule #1: Be Specific

Vague prompts get vague results. The more specific you are, the better ChatGPT can help you.

  • Help me with my resume

  • Review my resume for a marketing manager position and suggest improvements to the experience section

  1. Rule #2: Give Context

Help ChatGPT understand the situation so it can tailor its response.

  • Write a birthday message

  • Write a heartfelt birthday message for my best friend who just started a new job. Keep it warm but not too formal

  1. Rule #3: Iterate and Refine

Your first result doesn't have to be perfect. Ask follow-up questions to improve it.

  • Can you make that shorter?

  • Can you make it more formal?

  • Can you give me 3 more options?

These three rules alone will put you ahead of 80% of ChatGPT users.

Real Talk: What to Expect

Let's be honest about a few things:

  • ChatGPT isn't perfect. It can make mistakes, especially with factual information. Always verify important facts, especially for medical, legal, or financial decisions.

  • You don't need to pay (yet). The free version is incredibly powerful. We use it for most of our work. You can always upgrade later if you want faster responses or additional features.

  • It gets better the more you use it. Your first few tries might feel awkward. That's totally normal. The more you practice, the better you'll get at knowing what to ask and how to ask it.

  • This is a skill worth learning. We're not exaggerating when we say ChatGPT can save you hours every week once you know how to use it effectively.

What's Coming Next Week

Next edition, we're expanding your AI toolkit with a video on the 5 AI tools everyone should know about in 2026—including when to use each one and why.

But for now, let's master ChatGPT first. It's the foundation everything else builds on.

Your Turn

We want to hear from you:

Have you tried ChatGPT before? If yes, what's been your experience? If no, what's held you back?

What do you want to use ChatGPT for? Work tasks? Learning? Creative projects? Daily life hacks?
